Patent: Composition and Its Use as a Food Supplement or for Lowering Lipids in Serum

The following two patents for this invention were granted to Nutri Pharma ASA (Oslo, Norway):

• Norwegian patent #314875 - 10th of June 2003
• Chinese (PCR) patent #97192719.7 - 9th of April 2003

This invention relates to a composition comprising soybean ingredients in the form of isolated soy protein and soybean fibres. The composition of the invention is useful as partial or total diet for overweight or obese subjects and is further more useful for lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels and for increasing the HDL/LDL cholesterol ratio in serum.
