Nutri5® Study

Nutri5®, the Women's health product based on Abacor, was tested in a pilot study into the management of menopause symptoms. After 12 weeks, 90% of participants had reduced severity of symptoms

A pilot study into the use of Nutri5® for the management of Menopausal symptoms was carried out by Dr. Bernt Rognlien, the founder of Balderklinikken, the first and largest Scandinavian clinic for complementary medicine.

22 women were chosen for the study on the basis of experiencing moderate to severe menopauseal symptoms, such as :

  • Hot flushes and profuse perspiration
  • Heart palpitations
  • Depression
  • Irritability
  • Anxiety/nervousness
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of concentration/memory
  • Sexual problems/vaginal atrophy
  • Joint and muscle pain

Patients were given 2 sachets of Nutri5® per day, containing a total of 25g of soy protein for a period of 12 weeks.

A quantitative assessment of the severity of menopausal symptoms is generally carried out using the Kuppermann Menopause index. This takes subjective grades for the severity of ten typical symptoms and calculates an overall score which can be used to measure the effectiveness of treatment.

After 12 weeks, the average score had been reduced from 30 to 11.4, a 62% reduction to a level which is rated as "low" severity of symptoms.
