Since its establishment in 1993, Bionor Pharma Nutraceuticals (then Nutri Pharma) has become one of the leaders in soy technology for treatment and prevention of life-style related diseases. It has developed a number of unique patented products that are documented by extensive clinical trials and well proven in the Nordic market.

Bionor Pharma Nutraceuticals

The company was borne out of the research into the heart health benefits of the Soy bean initiated by Dr. Lars Høie, founder of the “Norwegian Medical Centre” and “The Centre for Heart Medicine” in Oslo.

Development by Dr. Høie of formulations comprising various bio-active fractions of the soy bean led to an agreement with Nycomed Pharma and the launch of Nutrilett^® for weight management in 1989.

The success of this launch led to the foundation of Nutri Pharma in 1993, with Trond Syvertsen leaving a career in banking to become co-founder. Nutri Pharma listed on the Oslo stock Exchange in May 2000.

In 2005, Nutri Pharma purchased the Meridian International Group direct marketing company, and launched a range of products in Russia/CIS.

In 2008, Nutri Pharma signed a marketing and distribution agreement with Nikken UK Ltd., for the launch of the Nutri5^® women’s health product in 17 countries across Europe. In 2009, this agreement was extended to include Russia/CIS and at the same time, the Meridian company was sold.

In 2010 Nutri Pharma ASA acquires all shares in Bionor Immuno AS and the companies merge to become Bionor Pharma ASA.
