Nutri5® is the Bionor Pharma brand name for the soy-based health supplement licensed to Nikken for sale across Europe, Russia and CIS countries.

Nutri Pharma research in the area of weight management has shown that the use of a soy-based low energy or very-low energy diet can significantly reduce cardiovascular risk factors. Following on from this research, formulations were developed, initially under the brand names Abacor® and Abalon®, to maximise these beneficial effects. Later marketed under the brand name Nutri5®, these formulations were the subject of seven clinical studies, which demonstrated :

• Significant reduction of total and LDL-cholesterol, improvement in the HDL/LDL cholesterol ratio
• A significant reduction in other risk factors for cardiovascular disease
• The cholesterol-reducing effect of Nutri5® is approximately twice that of the equivalent level of soy protein alone
• A significant additional total and LDL-cholesterol-lowering effect in patients already taking cholesterol-lowering medication

In addition, Nutri5® can reference clinical studies carried out on some of its component ingredients, which have shown :

• Reduction in risk of osteoporosis in post-menopausal women
• Reduction in severity of menopausal symptoms
